2K mold, also known as a double injection mold, is designed to combine two different plastic materials in a single molding process. It typically includes two or more independent injection systems that can inject different plastic materials either simultaneously or sequentially. This results in a plastic product with a two-color or multi-color effect.

Insert molding is an injection molding process where pre-manufactured components, known as inserts or insert parts, are placed into a mold cavity before molten plastic is injected around them. This technique results in a single, integrated part where the insert becomes encapsulated by the plastic, creating a strong bond between the materials.
